I guess you haven't been to brothels in Cambodia, Laos, or India. There indentured servitude, disease, and (very) underage sex workers are the norm. That is truly a living hell for the prostitutes. Pattaya is nothing by comparison, as the women are free to come and go as they wish.

Sure, it's not pleasing to the eye to see old/overweight foreigners walking with younger Thai women but both are gaining from the exchange and enter into it freely. I'd much rather see that situation than it be driven underground and controlled by criminal elements.

At least those girls look to be of legal age. You should get whoever sent you to Pattaya to send you to Fields Avenue, Angeles City - the world capital of child prostitution, and really very, very seedy indeed. (Far worse than anything I've seen on photos of Pattaya.)
